Overview:
The C Spire Staff Accountant applies the principles of accounting to record financial transactions, reconcile account balances, and analyze financial transactions.
Creates and interprets financial statements and reports.
Communicates key operational and financial results.

Exercising accounting control over a group of general ledger accountsRecording, analyzing and interpreting financial transactions and communicating results to managementReconciling general ledger account balancesCreating financial statements or other reports in conformity with GAAP or other regulatory standardsResearching technical accounting issues and assisting in new standard implementationsAssisting in coordination of external auditServing as a subject matter expert on projects which require specialized accounting knowledge, research, and application of assigned areasMaking recommendations to management for problem resolutionUsing various software applications such as spreadsheets, relational databases, statistical packages, and graphics packages to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and/or reportsPerforming additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in accounting or closely related equivalent required.
One to three years of related accounting work experience preferred.
CPA or CPA eligibleMBA, or MPA preferred.
Excellent organizational, computer, and communication skills are required.
Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods while viewing computer screen, use computer keyboard, and/or mouse.
